Replay Poker has partnered with a new broadcaster: AlecRome! In this article, get to know a bit about Alec and how he came to love the game.

Alec’s been a poker player since he was just four or five years old. While some kids have tea parties, Alec has picture proof of his poker exploits with his stuffed animals! He’s drawn to the game in particular because it continually helps him with decision making: “Even through getting rivered and bubbled, I still think I play poker to get better and strive to make the right decision. The risk involved in poker parallels risks in life. There is inherent risk in everything we do, but if we are afraid of that risk, and don’t ever take our chances, then we will never be successful.”

Hailing from the great city of Omaha, Alec is currently a student at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln (UNL). As a broadcast production major and a fan of other content creators on Twitch, he knew he wanted to kick off his own channel. Twitch allows streamers to connect with fans in many ways — by playing games together, chatting, and offering subscriber benefits. Alec has big plans coming soon: “I hope to really improve my Twitch channel, adding emotes, subscriber perks and a lot more fun things over the summer.”

Not familiar with Twitch? It’s a platform where players and hobbyists, like AlecRome, create channels to stream their passions. Whether it’s poker, a popular Nintendo game, a battle royale multiplayer competition, or simply someone cooking up a recipe, there’s something for everyone on Twitch. What makes Twitch unique is you get to participate live as you watch. As Alec says, “I love the interaction you can have with streaming, which is different compared to just [creating] videos, where it’s much tougher to connect.”

It’s easy and free to sign up for Twitch and start watching poker live. Just head over to https://www.twitch.tv/ and click “Sign Up” in the upper right-hand corner. After that, you can choose from many different streamers to follow and watch. Why not start by visiting Alec’s channel and clicking the “Follow” button at the top of the page?

Replay and Twitch aren’t the only ways that Alec gets his poker fix. He and his friends started the UNL Poker Club at his university. It was much easier than he thought to find others who love the game! The club meets weekly, and has about 15 eager players who earn points toward season standings.

Now that you know more about Alec, let us know if you also may be interested in streaming, or share what streaming-related promotions you’d like to see on Replay in the future.
