- that surviellance technology has become so cheap, that its readily available to the point anyone, with time on their hands, from the comfort of their homes, can listen into the houses of neighbours they don't like as though their watching a reality TV show. Then embellishing the information they perceive in a negative light, and gossip it, as though it was public to begin with. Being so empoweringly addictive, over many years, adds to normalising privacy invasion. Some writers & advertisers can't resist it because it becomes a source of new ideas, with no fear of accusations of plagiarism or unfair credit. Being so hard to prove, the only defence for those who can't afford anti-surveillance seems to be to trap with false information or shut down any kind of reaction with ignorance. (ie. creeps, kids, & the mentally ill have access to illegal surveillance)
